Overview:
In this workshop, you’ll work as part of the management team tasked with improving the performance of a business. Using a sophisticated business simulation, you’ll start by assessing the performance of your predecessors. You’ll quickly see that while the financial results look reasonable at first sight, they camouflage weaknesses in a number of areas.

You and your colleagues will need to make numerous financial and operational decisions to address these weaknesses and improve performance in key areas of the business. You’ll see and feel how the money works through the company’s value chain and what impact your decisions have on the bottom line at the end of each year.

Along the way, you’ll learn how to build and analyse the profit & loss, balance sheet and cash-flow statements for the business. You’ll assess performance by calculating profitability and operational ratios.

Your Facilitator:
The workshop will be led by Paul Howdle, Managing Consultant of Directional. Paul has led workshops for clients such as Kellogg’s, Tyrrell’s Wines, Fujitsu,  BP’s C-store managers and franchisees and Commonwealth Bank, and as a guest lecturer at Australia's top-rated business school - the Australian Graduate School of Management.
